872 rcacs.

a volunteer redesign for an air-cadet squadron — clearer structure, accessible by default, easy for non-technical leads to maintain.

overview

a clean, accessible home for a squadron — built to be run by volunteers, not developers.

The 872 Royal Canadian Air Cadets squadron needed a site that parents and cadets could actually navigate, and that squadron staff could update without touching code.

I handled design and development as a volunteer:

  • restructured the information architecture around what families actually look for
  • built it on WordPress so non-technical leads can keep it current
  • treated accessibility as a requirement, not a nice-to-have — readable contrast, clear focus states, sensible headings

A small, civic project — the kind where the best outcome is that nobody has to think about the website at all.
